In this episode we take a look at the 1950 Drama/Film-Noir “Sunset Blvd.” Starring William Holden, Gloria Swanson, Erich von Stroheim.

This movie takes place in 1950’s Hollywood. A screenwriter Joe Gillis (William Holden) who is broke ends up by chance at the mansion of a former silent film star Norma Desmond (Gloria Swanson). As it turns out she is full of delusions of grandeur that she will return to the big screen and become the star she once was, and persuades Joe to write her a screen play. When she falls in love with Joe but he doesn’t reciprocate the feelings things turn to tragedy.

Joyce Heath (Bette Davis) a raging alcoholic who has hit rock bottom is recognized as a former actress by Don Bellows (Franchot Tone) who takes her in and tries to rehabilitate her. Bellows ends up falling in love with her only to find out she is already married.
